Quilting was always intimidating to me, but I decided to give it a try. I got a book at the library and took it home and realized my good fortune. I had gotten a book that shows how to do foundation quilting. I'd made a big quilt with big pieces before, but didn't want to even attempt something with small pieces. Well, foundation quilting was EASY and fast and fun. You don't have to spend time cutting out all the pieces before hand, you sew them to a paper template and then take the paper off later and you cut as you go. I did 5 blocks, 1 big and 4 small, and made a Valentines pillow case. The lines don't all match perfectly, but I was pretty pleased with the end result. And now I have something Valentiney to put up in the house (after Christmas decorations, I decided I want decorations for other seasons/holidays as well).
